The Department of Emergency Medicine at KIMSHEALTH has been running a structured Emergency Medicine Residency Programme for over 14 years, producing highly skilled Emergency Physicians who serve in India and across the world. Building on this strong academic legacy, KIMSHEALTH now offers the Emergency Medicine Foundation Programme (EMFP) with the Emergency Medicine Certificate Programme (EMCP) in collaboration with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM), UK.
The EMFP with EMCP is a comprehensive three-year structured training programme designed for MBBS graduates aspiring to build a successful career in Emergency Medicine. The curriculum follows internationally accepted standards and combines supervised clinical training, simulation-based education, procedural competency, workplace-based assessments, academic teaching, and research activities to prepare candidates for the RCEM pathway.

The programme provides trainees with extensive exposure to the full spectrum of Emergency Medicine, including trauma, critical care, medical emergencies, paediatric emergencies, toxicology, disaster medicine, and point-of-care ultrasound. Regular teaching sessions, clinical discussions, simulation workshops, journal clubs, and bedside training are conducted by experienced Emergency Medicine faculty committed to academic excellence.

The EMCP delivered under the guidance of RCEM provides internationally benchmarked training and assessment, enabling candidates to develop the competencies expected of modern Emergency Physicians. Successful completion of the programme equips trainees with the knowledge, clinical skills, professionalism, and decision-making abilities required for advanced Emergency Medicine practice and supports progression through the RCEM training pathway.
