What are the treatment options for trigger finger? Dr. Manoj Haridas, Hand and Microvascular surgeon at KIMS, Trivandrum. Coming to the treatment options for the trigger finger, a person coming to us with a stage 3 or a finger getting locked and not able straighten it out at all, so that is a condition when the patient has to use other finger to pull it out, so that is what we call it stage 3 trigger finger. Or other condition is when the patient once he straighten up the finger the finger is not straighten up fully these two are stages wherein obviously the patient needs to undergo a surgery. So this is a minor surgery it is sent under local anaesthesia, injection is given to the palm at the level of A1 pulley over this still end of the palm and in 5 minutes we can just give a surgical incision and pulley there is a structure called A1 poly can be released and immediately on the day itself we ask the patient to bend the finger and straighten it out. We can see that the triggering is vanished, the patient will be able to freely move the fingers.
