What is trigger finger and what are the causes and symptoms? Dr. Manoj Haridas, hand and micro vascular surgeon at KIMS Hospital, Trivandrum. The trigger finger is a very common condition with which patient comes to our Hand clinic OPD in a very florid condition of trigger finger the patient's most common complaint is they are not able to bend the fingers or when they bend the finger they are not able to straighten in freely that means the finger gets stuck somewhere in between. This is one of the established cases of trigger finger but many times you know patient comes with a slowing of finger they're not able to bend it as freely as a normal finger but in some cases the patient comes to us with there is a bend in the finger which is already established. So there are to say there are many stages of trigger finger like stage 1 2 3 & 4 the causes, there cannot be any cause for trigger finger it is some people are more predisposed to trigger finger like they have a tendency called soft-tissue rheumatism or they may be having diabetes which has not been detected or undergoing treatment sometimes a patient with hypothyroidism can present to you.
