The KIMSHEALTH developmental Pediatrics unit is a comprehensive unit that caters to families of children with developmental concerns.
This unit is led by the developmental pediatrician and is ably supported by a multidisciplinary team of allied professionals including speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists.
The mission of our unit is to help each child reach their best developmental potential by providing evidence-based, structured and comprehensive evaluation and training to children who have developmental disorders.
We practice a family centred approach, with importance given to parent counselling and parent training and involving parents in setting goals for their child’s individualized education plan so as to empower them to guide their children later.
KIMS development Pediatrics unit has the unique availability of expert and eminent specialist doctors like pediatric neurologists, pediatric cardiologists, pediatric endocrinologists, Pediatric orthopaedics, physiatrist, ENT doctor, ophthalmologist and others who are available for cross consultation to ensure comprehensive evaluation and management of medical comorbidities that may be seen in children with developmental delays.
We cater to children with developmental concerns of varying severity from mild developmental delays to major developmental disorders like autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, global developmental delays, communication disorders, genetic disorders etc.
Why is it essential to see a specialist if you have concerns about your child’s development.?
90percent of brain growth occurs in the first 5 years of life when millions of connections are being formed between the brain cells. Providing adequate stimulation and training in this critical period can help to mould the brain’s connections and help to improve the developmental outcome – the concept we call neuroplasticity.
A large number of researches worldwide have shown better outcomes for children with developmental disorders who have started intervention early
Hence please don’t wait and watch if you are concerned about your child’s development as you may be losing critical time of stimulation.
When should I see a developmental pediatrician?
Do you think your child is late in motor milestones like head holding, sitting or standing
Do you have concerns about the child’ speech?
Are there any academic or behavioural concerns at school?
Does your child have a neurological condition like cerebral palsy, seizures, etc
Does your child have any genetic conditions associated with developmental delay?
Does your child have any other risk factors for developmental delay like prematurity, prolonged NICU stays, or any other issues in the newborn period.
Is your child taking therapy for any developmental problem?
Are you worried about your child’s behaviour?
Does your child have these symptoms -Poor eye contact, Not responding to name calls, Not using gestures like pointing; waving; clapping, Not interested in other children, Any repetitive behaviours like hand flapping.
Is your child hyperactive and having frequent tantrums or aggressive behaviour?
They can be signs of certain neurodevelopmental disorders whose outcomes can be improved with early intervention. So do not wait if you are concerned.
WE ARE HERE TO GUIDE AND HELP YOU.
Doctors, nurses, and other trained staff in the Emergency Medicine Department at KIMSHEALTH handle life-threatening injuries, serious illnesses and other urgent health problems. They are ready around the clock every day of the week to assist anyone who needs emergency medical help. Teams in the emergency department assess patients to understand how serious their condition is. If someone requires urgent attention, our department's care team admits them. When patients leave the emergency department, doctors provide advice to ensure follow-up care happens. Emergency physicians often suggest visiting primary doctors afterwards. Patients should check their discharge instructions for details.

Our Services
At the KIMSHEALTH FERTILITY, we offer a comprehensive range of services, treatments, and procedures to address various fertility issues. Our experienced team of fertility specialists, embryologists, nurses, and support staff provides personalized care. Here's an overview of the treatments and procedures available:
Fertility Evaluation: We begin your journey with a thorough fertility evaluation, which includes a detailed medical history, physical examination, and advanced diagnostic tests. This comprehensive assessment helps us identify the underlying causes of infertility.
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF): IVF is a highly effective assisted reproductive technology (ART) where eggs and sperm are combined in a laboratory to create embryos. These embryos are then transferred to the uterus, offering an excellent chance of pregnancy.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI): ICSI is a specialized IVF technique in which a single sperm is injected directly into an egg. It is particularly helpful in cases of male infertility or previous IVF failures.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI): IUI involves the placement of specially prepared sperm directly into the uterus, bypassing the cervix. It's often used in cases of unexplained infertility or as a less invasive option.
Fertility-Enhancing Surgeries: Our skilled doctors perform laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to address structural abnormalities, remove blockages, and correct issues that may be hindering conception.
Donor Programs: For those facing challenges with egg or sperm quality, our donor egg and sperm programs provide an opportunity to achieve pregnancy using healthy, screened donor gametes.
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT): PGT is a sophisticated technique that allows us to screen embryos for genetic abnormalities before transfer, increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy and the birth of a healthy child.

Advanced services:
Male Fertility Services:
Ovulation Induction
Ovulation induction is a fertility treatment for women who do not ovulate, usually presenting as irregular or even completely absent periods. The most common cause for this is a condition known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
Controlled Ovarian Stimulation
Controlled Ovarian Stimulation is a part of the treatment in assisted reproductive procedures like IUI and IVF or ICSI. Fertility Medications are used with control over pituitary hormones to stimulate ovaries to develop and produce multiple eggs to increase the pregnancy rates.
In vitro fertilization (IVF)
IVF (In vitro fertilization) is an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedure used to treat a range of fertility problems. In normal cases, man’s sperm meets the woman’s egg and produces an embryo in woman’s womb. Out of million sperms, only one sperm succeeds in fertilizing with the woman’s egg. This process explains the reproduction in humans. But sometimes due to various complication, this process doesn’t occur in the same way as it should and the reasons of it could be many. Medical science has come up with a solution of it and that solution is IVF.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
ICSI is a specialized technique in which a single sperm is injected into the centre of an egg. The technique is commonly used when the sperm to be used is not optimal, Severe male factor infertility that do not want donor sperm insemination.
Embryo Transfer
An embryo transfer is the last stage in the IVF/ICSI process, where the fertilized egg that has been left to grow for several days is placed in the woman’s uterus where it will hopefully implant, become a fetus, and result in the birth of a healthy child. The embryo transfer procedure is done by loading the embryo into a catheter, which is then passed through the woman’s vagina and cervix, and deposited in the uterus. Anaesthesia is usually not necessary.
Fertility Enhancing Surgery
Several laparoscopic procedures are available to enhance fertility in couples looking to conceive. The term “enhance” is a broad term and includes diagnostic, stimulatory, and therapeutic modalities. This is minimally invasive surgical technique is associated with faster recovery and better patient outcomes. Laparoscopic surgery uses the aid of a laparoscope, a thin rod with a camera attached, to visualize the abdominal and pelvic cavities through tiny keyhole incisions.
Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration (PESA)
Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration is a method for sperm retrieval in men with Obstructive Azoospermia that occurs due to blockage of vas deference. In this technique the sperms are extracted from epididymis as compared to TESA, where sperms are extracted from testis. PESA does not need surgery. It’s a just a needle insertion, hence only local anaesthesia is given. A small needle is passed directly into the head of epididymis through the scrotal skin & fluid is aspirated. Testing of PESA can be used for IVF/ICSI and non-infertility conditions like Varicocele, Hydrocele, Orchitis and, Testicular torsion.
Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE)
TESA is a simple procedure in which sperm can extracted from testis to produce healthy babies. This procedure help male with 0 sperm count that is azoospermia to experience fatherhood.
Micro Testicular Sperm Extraction (MicroTESE)
A highly specialized surgical procedure, MicroTESE is used to retrieve sperm directly from the testes, particularly in cases of non-obstructive azoospermia. Here we are taking sperms from any possible site of production of even one or few sperms from any corner testes even in testicular failure. This method minimizes tissue damage, increasing the chances of finding viable sperm for IVF/ICSI.
3D Ultrasound
The latest 3D-4D Ultrasound machines available at KIMS FERTILITY are used to detect abnormalities in the uterine cavity including polyps, synechiae, junctional zone abnormalities, uterine anomalies, cervical incompetence. The crystal view, torchlight section, and invert features can add more details if offline editing tools are incorporated. All ultrasounds use sound waves to create a picture. 2D ultrasounds have been used for decades and they are non-invasive and safe. No radiation problems like in x-rays.
Reproductive Genetics
Our reproductive geneticists offer prenatal screening, genetic testing and counselling for couples and foetuses with medical genetic concerns. We provide you with guidance and support so you can make informed decisions.
Recurrent Pregnancy Loss Clinic
Many women have a miscarriage at one time or another. Miscarriages can happen for many reasons. Having a miscarriage doesn’t mean a woman will have another miscarriage if she tries again. But some women suffer more than two miscarriages. This is called recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). Women and families often grieve these losses deeply. Women may also worry that they are sick or did something to cause the losses. RPL, however, is often a natural process. Less than half of recurrent miscarriages have an obvious or treatable cause. Almost two-thirds of women with RPL will eventually have a healthy pregnancy — often without any extra treatment. If you have suffered two or more miscarriages, you should talk with your health-care provider. Often, women decide to continue trying to get pregnant naturally. However, in certain situations, your doctor might suggest treatments to help reduce your risk for miscarriage.
Fertility Preservation
Your future fertility may be at risk if you have certain diseases and conditions. This could be due to the condition itself or to the surgery or medication o used to treat some conditions like malignancy. People who wish to delay having children until their late 30s or 40s may choose to preserve their fertility because studies show aging affects fertility.
High Risk Pregnancy Care
A high-risk pregnancy is a pregnancy that involves increased health risks for the pregnant person, fetus or both. Certain health conditions and your age can make a pregnancy high risk. These pregnancies require close monitoring to reduce the chance of complications.
Sexual Medicine
Everybody’s sexual experience, preferences, and needs are unique, and these are likely to change over time. Some people find talking about sex a bit awkward at first which is completely normal you will be supported to be as comfortable as possible. Common sexual problems are:

The Clinical Nutrition Department offers help to people dealing with nutrition issues caused by diseases. A team made up of dietitians, nutrition technicians, nurses, and doctors focuses on giving complete care to meet unique nutrition needs.
A registered dietitian focuses on medical nutrition therapy using a science-based approach. They look at your condition, health status, injury, or goals to create a plan that boosts your health and recovery. Keep in mind not all "nutritionists" are trained. Always check their qualifications and background.
Many people turn to a registered dietitian (RD) to get advice on various matters. Some aim to improve their overall health and figure out how to eat better to lower the chances of conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or cancer. Others focus on learning about sports nutrition, keeping their weight in check, or staying healthy as they grow older. An RD can create a diet plan that matches your personal goals and needs.
Dr. Leena Saju leads our skilled group of dietitians who collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare experts. They aim to give patients, both admitted and visiting, nutrition advice based on solid evidence. The dietetic team brings knowledge in areas like nutrition support critical care, heart health, kidney conditions, neurological disorders, digestive issues, cancer treatment, and weight management, including bariatric surgery.

If you are having surgery, whether planned ahead or sudden, it is a significant moment in your life. The Department of General and Minimally Invasive Surgery at KIMSHEALTH is always here for you to ensure you feel at ease during treatment.
Our experienced surgeons and staff come together as a caring team to handle a wide range of medical issues, from simple to more challenging cases. The team takes a collaborative approach to pinpoint problems and take quick action with surgery when needed. We specialise in both general procedures and less invasive surgical techniques.
In minimally invasive Surgery, Dr Firoz Khan and his team at the Department of General and Minimally Invasive Surgery use different methods to perform surgeries with less harm to the body compared to open surgery. This type of surgery causes less pain, decreases hospital stays, and reduces the risk of complications. Laparoscopic surgery involves making one or more small cuts and utilises slender tubes, small cameras, and surgical tools.
Advancements in minimally invasive techniques provide an effective choice to treat many conditions. If surgery is required and you believe this method could work for you, discuss it with our surgeons at the Department of General and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Who Can Choose Minimally Invasive Surgery?
Minimally invasive surgery is often safer than traditional open surgery in many cases. Some patients who cannot undergo open surgery might still qualify for minimally invasive procedures. But these techniques can take more time and may need preparation in advance. This makes them less suitable in emergencies or when doctors aren't sure about your condition yet. Laparoscopic surgery may not be the best option for people with certain heart or lung problems. It involves using gases to inflate the abdominal area to separate organs from the abdominal wall. These gases might raise the chances of heart or lung issues in some patients during surgery. The surgeon will evaluate your specific risks before suggesting this approach.

The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery department provides a full range of treatments to address many aesthetic issues. Some common functional problems include difficulty breathing through the nose, injuries, muscle weakness or paralysis, and skin cancer needing surgical repair. Cosmetic issues people often seek help for include sagging eyelids or eyebrows, wanting a smaller nose through rhinoplasty, or loose skin around the neck. The surgeons here have deep expertise in all these areas even in complex or delicate cases. They receive referrals for challenging situations that others cannot manage.
Our surgeons train in microvascular surgery for head and neck reconstruction. This training equips them to fix large and difficult defects in these areas often caused by cancer or severe injuries, by using a method called "free tissue transfer." In these surgeries, they move tissue from parts of the body, like the arm, leg, or abdomen, to the head or neck. They reconnect the blood supply to the moved tissue by stitching tiny blood vessels together. These delicate steps take place under a high-powered microscope.

Thinking about Plastic Surgery?
The first thing to do when thinking about plastic surgery is meet with a surgeon to talk about your goals, other options, and the possible risks and benefits of different procedures. After you and the surgeon agree on a treatment plan, they'll schedule your surgery. Depending on your case, the procedure might take place either as an inpatient or outpatient. The surgery team will provide care after the operation.
KIMSHEALTH provides mental health programs to offer personalised and private care. The team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, advanced practice providers and other specialists. Our specialists may recommend staying at the hospital to handle complex mental health issues or problems with chemical dependency. You could take part in sessions during the day and head back home at night. Your care team goes over all treatment choices with you and makes sure you are okay with the plan.
How is a Psychiatrist Different from a Psychologist?
Psychiatrists are medical doctors trained to diagnose and treat mental, emotional and behavioural health issues. They can prescribe medicines or offer other medical treatments. The Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology handles illnesses that occur when issues arise in the body’s immune system. Think of the immune system as the body’s security team built to protect us from harm. But when it goes wrong, it attacks the body’s own cells and tissues instead of protecting them. These problems result in what we call autoimmune diseases.
Autoimmune diseases range from mild problems to serious or even deadly illnesses. These conditions often affect different parts of the body all at once. Doctors use a thorough method to diagnose and manage them. An autoimmune disease might affect the skin, weaken muscles, cause joint pain like arthritis, or even harm organs like the lungs or kidneys. A good specialist looks at all these symptoms together to decide on the right treatment plan.
Many used to think autoimmune diseases were uncommon, but they are widespread. The main problem is that people know too little about them. This leads to long delays in diagnosing the illness, which means patients don’t get the help they need.
If you notice signs affecting several organs in your body at the same time, you should visit a specialist like a Rheumatologist or Clinical Immunologist.
Rheumatologists at KIMSHEALTH work as part of a team to deliver advanced diagnosis and care. They focus on autoimmune and inflammatory conditions that involve the musculoskeletal system, such as issues in joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
At KIMSHEALTH, the specialists under the leadership of Dr S Rajesh team up with doctors from different fields based on the type of rheumatologic disease. They also stay in contact with your regular doctor to make sure your care is consistent and transitions are smooth when needed. By working together, they provide well-rounded care aimed at taking care of your unique health requirements.

We offer the full range of systemic therapy:
