- Right to receive treatment irrespective of the age, gender, religion, caste, culture, language, socio-economic status and region
- Right to receive information regarding the details of the disease condition, treatment, plan of care, progress and their healthcare needs.
- Right to participate in plan of care.
- Right to provide informed consent before surgery, anaesthesia other invasive procedures, blood transfusions etc.
- Right to confidentiality of patient information.
- Right to dignity and privacy during physical examination and treatment.
- Right to be protected from physical abuse and neglect.
- Right to fulfill the special needs such as spiritual and cultural preferences, without disturbing the hospital.
- Right to get information on the expected cost of treatment.
- Right to seek a second opinion regarding medical condition.
- Right to refuse the treatment and get discharge against medical advice.
- Right to complain if any and get information on how to voice a complaint.
- Right to be educated on organ donation and blood transfusion.
- Right to know information about the health care provider.
- Right to access medical record (within 72 hours of request).

രോഗിയുടെ അവകാശങ്ങൾ
- പ്രായം, ലിംഗം, മതം, സാമൂഹിക സാമ്പത്തിക സ്ഥിതി, പ്രദേശം തുടങ്ങിയ വിവേചനങ്ങൾ ഇല്ലാതെ തുല്യ പരിഗണനയോടെ ചികിത്സ ലഭിക്കുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- രോഗാവസ്ഥ, ചികിത്സ, പരിചരണ പദ്ധതി, ചികിത്സാ പുരോഗതി, ആരോഗ്യ സേവനങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വിവരങ്ങൾ ലഭിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ചികിത്സാ സംബന്ധമായ തീരുമാനങ്ങളിൽ പങ്കെടുക്കുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ശസ്ത്രക്രിയ, അനസ്തേഷ്യ, രക്തം കയറ്റൽ തുടങ്ങിയ ചികിത്സാ രീതികൾക്കു വിധേയമാവുന്നതിന് മുമ്പ് സമ്മതപത്രം നൽകുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- രോഗിയെകുറിച്ചുള്ള എല്ലാ വിവരങ്ങളുടേയും സ്വകാര്യത സംരക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ശാരീരിക പരിശോധനകൾക്കോ ചികിത്സകൾക്കോ വിധേയരാകുമ്പോൾ സ്വകാര്യതയും മാന്യമായ പെരുമാറ്റവും ലഭിക്കുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ശാരീരിക പീഡനങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും അവഗണനയിൽ നിന്നും സംരക്ഷണം ലഭിക്കാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ആശുപത്രി നടത്തിപ്പിനെ ബാധിക്കാത്ത നിലയിൽ രോഗിയുടെ മതപരവും സാംസ്കാരികവുമായ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾ നിറവേറ്റുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ചികിത്സയുടെ ചിലവിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അറിയുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ആരോഗ്യസ്ഥിതിയെക്കുറിച്ച് രണ്ടാമതൊരു ഡോക്ടറുടെ ആഭിപ്രായം തേടാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- ചികിത്സ നിരസിക്കാനും, ഡിസ്ചാർജ്ജ് ആവശ്യപ്പെടാനുമുള്ള അവകാശം.
- പരാതികൾ ബോധിപ്പിക്കാനും പരാതി നൽകേണ്ടുന്ന രീതിയെക്കുറിച്ചും അറിയുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം.
- അവയവദാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും രക്തദാനത്തെക്കുറിച്ചും അറിയുവാനുള്ള അവകാശം

- To maintain healthy habits and routines that contributes to good health and take responsibility for one's own health
- To provide accurate and complete information about his or her medical condition
- To be punctual in keeping the appointments and inform if not turning up
- To comply with the doctors treatment plan and instructions.
- Not to take any medications without the knowledge of the treating doctor
- Not to ask for surreptitious bills and false certificates
- To provide accurate and complete information for insurance claims and work with the hospital to make payment arrangements.
- To pay for the services billed in a timely manner.
- To respect and be courteous to the doctors and other staff
To abide by the hospital policies such as:
- No smoking policy
- Policy on prohibiting outside food in hospital
- Visiting Time
രോഗിയുടെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്വങ്ങൾ
- നല്ല ആരോഗ്യത്തിന് കാരണമാകുന്ന ആരോഗ്യകരമായ ശീലങ്ങളും ദിനചര്യകളും നിലനിർത്തുകയും സ്വന്തം ആരോഗ്യത്തിന്റെ ഉത്തരവാദിത്തം ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയും ചെയുക.
- തന്റെ ആരോഗ്യനിലയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള കൃത്യവും പൂർണ്ണവുമായ വിവരങ്ങൾ നൽകുക.
- അപ്പോയ്ന്റ്മെന്റ് എടുത്തിട്ടുങ്കിൽ അത് കൃത്യമായി പാലിക്കുക. അതിനു സാധിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ ആ വിവരം കൃത്യമായി അറിയിക്കുക.
- ഡോക്ടറുടെ ചികിത്സാ നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങൾ കൃത്യമായി പാലിക്കുക.
- ഡോക്ടറുടെ അറിവില്ലാതെ യാതൊരു മരുന്നുകളും കഴിക്കരുത്.
- തെറ്റായ രേഖകളും ബില്ലുകളും വ്യാജ സർട്ടിഫിക്കറ്റുകളും ആവശ്യപ്പെടരുത്.
- ഇൻഷുറൻസ് ക്ലെയിമിന് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള എല്ലാ വിവരങ്ങളും കൃത്യമായും പൂർണ്ണമായും നൽകുക.
- ആശുപത്രി നിർദ്ദേശിക്കുന്ന ചികിത്സാ ചിലവുകൾ കൃത്യസമയത്ത് അടയ്ക്കുക.
- ഡോക്ടറോടും മറ്റുള്ള സ്റ്റാഫിനോടും മാന്യമായും ബഹുമാനത്തോടും പെരുമാറുക.
- താഴെ കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ആശുപത്രി നിയമങ്ങൾ പാലിക്കുക.
- ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പുകവലി പാടില്ല
- ആശുപത്രിയിൽ പുറത്തു നിന്ന് ഭക്ഷണം കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ പാടില്ല.
- സന്ദർശന സമയം പാലിക്കുക.
